Goodsticks
In Spring 2020, I worked on a team of five mechanical engineering students on a project through Generate, Northeastern’s student-led product development studio. Our goal was to design and prototype a dispenser for our client, a company called Goodsticks which makes edible, biodegradable chopsticks to reduce plastic utensil and packaging waste.
One unique challenge in the creation of our utensil dispenser is that the utensil is a food itself. This means that we had to work with food safe materials, incorporate seals into our design to maintain chopsticks freshness, and ensure a sanitary dispensing surface.
